Re-certification

The CPLP® credential is valid for 3 years. Recertification is earned through professional development. CPLPs must accumulate 60 CPLP® recertification points within the three year recertification period.

As part of the recertification process, CPLPs are required to submit a completed application/tracking worksheet providing evidence of their professional development activities.

What is the intent of recertification?

The intent is to encourage CPLPs to continue to learn and develop. Individuals may choose from an array of recertification options that best suit their individual development needs.

How ATD-OC will help

ATD-OC hosts Monthly Learning Events and SIG meetings that may provide professional development that qualify as re-certification Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for CPLPs.

Look for CPLP™ Re-certification CEU information in the description of each event.

Get more information

You can get more information about how and when to recertify from the ASTD CI website.  There, you will find the Recertification Application Sheet and Recertification FAQ.  We’ve provided the links below for your convenience.

Can I let my CPLP™ lapse then renew it at a future date?

No! This is not permitted.

CPLP™ credential holders that do not re-certify by their recertification deadlines will become inactive.

These individuals would need to restart the CPLP™ process (apply, register, pass the knowledge based exam and submit a successful work product) to reactivate the credential.

Don’t lose your credential!

Re-certify!
