Martha Stott, CPLP

After a 15-year stint as a business journalist, Martha launched her training career in 2000 as a curriculum developer for a pharmaceutical benefits company. She quickly realized she'd found her niche: equipping employees to be more effective in their professional roles (rather than writing about companies and people who couldn't get it right). Since then, she has held a series of increasingly responsible training positions, including managing customer service training for Hotels.com, and directing sales and quality training for Classic Vacations, the luxury wholesale division of Expedia, Inc.
In November 2012, Martha joined 8x8, Inc., as senior manager of training and knowledge management for the fast-growing, San Jose-based VoIP telephony provider. She has hired and now manages a team of three trainers.
Martha earned her CPLP in 2008, submitting a work product in Human Performance Improvement. She volunteers with ASTD Golden Gate - South Bay, and has served on various volunteer roles for ASTD National. She holds a B.A. in journalism.
