How do you train “veterans,” meaning people who already know or are already performing a skill? It is easy to train people who are new to a skill; they know they don’t know how to perform it, they want to learn, and they automatically trust you as an expert. Folks who are already performing a skill, however, are often resistant. Thinking that they are already successful, they do not feel the need to attend training sessions and often question your authority. Even those with good attitudes often attend training, but fail to apply what they have learned afterward. Confidence often clouds the learning process. Many believe that they are already performing a skill perfectly that they do not take notice of the areas that they were off track.
Learn how to develop training plans and lessons that will help receive cooperation from Veterans and help them develop learning.
Don’t miss this highly interactive and immediately applicable learning event.
